It’s dumb to post your year-end lists before the year ends, exhibit A: Molly Nilsson‘s excellent new LP, History, which just dropped last week on her own Dark Skies Association label. You might be familiar with Molly via her “duet” with John Maus, a touching little lullaby which originally appeared on Molly’s 2008 record These Things Take Time. Like Maus, she creates dreamy, sometimes nostalgic synth-pop with simple/perfect melodies, as evidenced on bittersweet album opener “In Real Life.”

Not sure why people are sleeping on this record, but you can get History here or here in the States.

Nice song. Love it! Check out my top 10 songs of 2011 at yobigbro.com.
I like it and all, but the chord progression and melody seem very derivative of Billy Idol’s “Eyes Without a Face”.
