Here’s another stunning song from Atlas Sound‘s forthcoming full-length, Parallax. Like previously unveiled tracks “Terra Incognita” and “Te Amo,” Bradford Cox‘s vocals are disarmingly front and center on the perfectly titled “Modern Aquatic Nightsongs,” a fully fleshed-out, immaculately produced widescreen realization of the gentler, lucid-dream-like direction that Cox explored on the often gorgeous and inspired rough sketches/demos from his expansive Bedroom Databank vault that was released for free last year. One of many highlights from the new record, due November 8 on 4 AD; check the lyrics after the jump:

chris, the stream for this song isn’t working. i tried it on pitchfork and stereogum as well and neither of those work either. i think this is gvb’s stream thingy too because i haven’t seen it before, and at stereogum it says via GVB. soooo, just wanna let you know that it’s not working and i would really like to hear the song. thanks
it’s actually Beggars/4AD’s stream, and it’s working fine for me? maybe try another browser
ok well there ya go.. wasn’t working on safari but it works on firefox. didn’t work on my phone either (HTC), nor windows explorer on my desktop. weird..
If he keeps this up, we’ll have the whole album for free by mid-October.
Lots of people going crazy over this album — I just don’t know yet.
Not really digging any of the tracks off this album so far. Maybe they’ll grow on me.
Kinda wish that picture was the cover for parallax
^I thought the same thing.
^ Definitely, or this http://4ad.com/parallax/
i was a huge deerhunter / atlas sound fan right from the beginning…i really think both incarnations of bradford’s music have gotten alot less interesting over time…real bummer
Wow. Don’t agree with that at all. I think his stuff has gotten more interesting, and the productions are sounding better, with each release. I think he is showing growth as a musician too. His creativity is pretty astounding.
