    honestly, its a sweet video, but yea, its a bit of a ripoff of what they did last year. their video for scissor sisters in december was fucking AMAZING tho. still kind of in the same style but with a really sweet kind of italo horror narrative: http://vimeo.com/17444911

    Marc Gomez del Moral originated this style – “Bombay” and “Invisible Light” (Scissor Sisters). The imagery used here is nowhere near as challenging/compelling, and therefore fails, even as a rip off.

        OK, so s/he’s a one trick pony. Except now I feel like the Bombay video has been weakened by this shameless self-imitation to the point where s/he’s a zero-trick pony.

    I love the choreographed dance part at 1:35. Matias Aguayo is an awesome singer/producer/performer. I prefer his solo work to this Battles song, but it is cool to see with a band.

    Brian couldn’t have said it better: “Thirty-something Duran Duran lookalikes from Warp mumble over an expensive music video. Women lick things for unsexy results.” The video is extremely stupid. Probably only horny people are fanatic about it. The lyrics are extremely stupid. The men are just mumbling nonsense. It’s not a pleasant kind of mumbling. BORING. Not fun, not funky. I don’t understand the buzz about this song. Just today I was reading the newspaper and it said this is the song of the Summer 2011, and I was very pissed. This stuff is not worth anyone’s precious time! Absolute worthless crap. I cringe every time I hear this!! RANT OVER. :(
