Panda Bear‘s Tomboy finally drops a week from Tuesday on Paw Tracks, and after all of the live bootlegs, 7″ singles, and various non-LP tracks leading up to the album’s release, the whole thing is now streaming over at NPR. Not sure how they were able to stave off a leak for this long, but if you haven’t heard it yet, it was well worth the wait. Listen here.

think sonic boom screwed up tomboy and alsatian darn should have let those tracks be… the rest is epic.
I do like the new buzzing sound layer in Tomboy, it reminds me of some old good videogame music, like the final boss or something.
I found this to be pretty much unlistenable. Awful production, super boring melodies, repetitive without being trance-like. It’s amazing that something like this could take more than a couple days to write and mix let alone a couple years. If this is the kind of stuff kids are going to be apeing for the next couple years, music is gonna get even worse than it has been. Person Pitch was a favorite of mine for the record. Highly disappointed.
People said the same thing about Kid A. This album is incredible and will only continue to grow on us. Best piece of music that has been released since Person Pitch.
i think what is wrong with music now is the fact that people don’t give it a chance and don’t have to. how many times did you listen to it? give it a chance to grow.
Perhaps what I heard yesterday was fake (I dl’d it off of slsk). Admittedly sounds much better than whatever I heard. Soz. For the record though, could never get into Kid A.
Good reply. Although I don’t think the difference between this and Person Pitch is nearly as stark as that between OK Computer and Kid A, nor will it be as divisive. I think most Panda Bear lovers will take to it. The main draw has always been his voice. That much remains as glorious as ever.
