Toro Y Moi – “Still Sound” remix contest

Carpark is holding a remix contest for Toro y Moi‘s silky smooth new disco-funk jam “Still Sound,” with Chaz‘s favorite entry to be included on a forthcoming official Toro y Moi remix 12″. The winner will also receive a Toro t-shirt, and a copy of Underneath the Pine on vinyl/cd. Just download the stems here to get started, and upload your remixes to Carpark’s Soundcloud by January 31 to enter. Feel free to post up links to your work in the comments as well, we’d love to hear what y’all come up with.

In other Toro y Moi news, we have a pair of tickets to give away for the band’s sold out NYC show at Mercury Lounge on January 19. Just leave a comment below or like us on Facebook if you’d like to attend, and I’ll pick a winner on Monday.

    I drove to Baton Rouge last year to see Toro y Moi w/ Caribou. As much as I love Caribou I really wanted to see Toro y Moi. Five miles from the venue I got stuck on the highway because there was a terrible accident. By the time I got there Toro y Moi had literally just ended his set. I saw Chaz walking out as I was walking in. Super bummed.

    Today I was walking to the grocery store, like always, when I turned down a little shortcut I know through a back alley. I’ve never seen anyone before, so I was rather surprised to see none other than Chaz Bundick himself standing there with a rather glazed look in his eyes. I walked up to him to say hello, when he grabbed my arm, and sunk his teeth into it. I punched him and ran back home, screaming for help. When I finally got home, my arm was bright red, and looks extremely infected.

    I think I’m a zombie and the only cure is (more cowbell) two tickets.
