Here’s the latest unclassifiable jam from Lafayette, CO’s Gauntlet Hair, on which the young duo brings a next-level strain of the cavernous, blissfully shimmering danceable racket we loved so much on their brilliant debut 7″. As massive as that first single remains, new A-side “Out, Don’t…” somehow feels even bigger, the duo’s staggering “heavy space hits and body-moving apocalypse grooves” verging on the unstoppable. The Out, Don’t… / Heave 7″ is out soon on Mexican Summer. Pre-order here.

hmmm, no age comes to mind as one.
nah
YUS!! I’ve been jonesing for more of them!
This isn’t really all that interesting. Its good, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t hear anything all that special about it. Production is off as well. Peaks like a mofo.
Holy shit, yeah. It does. I dig this though, I’ve been waiting a while for a new buzzworthy mp3 from these guys.
absolutely brilliant. this production is deliberate and well suiting of the music. cannot wait for an lp. tour to nc.
Rules
How is it deliberate? It totally takes away from the actual song itself. Its like How to Dress Well for instance. No one deliberately intends to have their music peak or clip. It ruins the chance, in my opinion, for good music.
you’re saying How To Dress Well DOESN’T peak intentionally?
thanks chris for playing and posting some life altering and amazing music – @$()#&%)(%!@)!$$ office blocks everything except your site, and i rely on you to keep me sane during the day and the night. never thought i’d say that about dallas….
i listen to your playlist as soon as it’s up, and your monthly mix. if they catch me saving these great tunes to my jump drive, i may be looking for a job, but f@@k em.
cheers-
brooke
I have to say, Matt, that the clipping IS deliberate. I wanted the recording to represent the live sound. That live sound being our amps crackling and buzzing under the pressure(I’ve gone through 3 cabs since we’ve started), the trim on my vocals being completely cranked, Craig’s drum sound blowing one of my monitors out, and all of it being recorded in the basement of our home in a 12×12 cement room. The only way we can feel our music is to literally FEEL IT. Just wanted to clarify that. I really dislike when people make assumptions as if they know the intentions of the artists themselves. Thanks for listening though everyone! It really means a lot! Maybe you’ll dig the next one Matt?
Love,
Andy R.
Keep on rocking dudes and your music is simply AMAZING!!! If your ever board you can always find a lovely crowd in north Idaho.
I’ve heard 5 GH songs and each one of them is absolutely amazing. keep ‘accidentally’ making brilliant music, and don’t worry about matt… he’s upset not everybody can sound like incubus.
*come to dallas please
Sounds great! Keep it up!
These guys fucking ROCK!!! Include pendle in the next song thanks!
