Listen to two different snippets of Panda Bear‘s new You Can Count On Me/Alsatian Darn 7″ single here and here. Turns out “Alsatian Darn” is not the King Tubby-sampling jam after all, but an entirely new song. The single, which drops on October 19, is sold out on Domino’s U.S. site, but you can still grab it at Domino’s UK shop, and it will be available next week at record stores here in the States.

I totally agree Gary. It’s interesting to me how absolutely nobody got it right re: Alsatian Darn. I’m kind of wondering if the King Tubby jam will be released on the Kompakt single, since it seems to be more up their alley over there.
You Can Count On Me in recorded form is a far more filled out track, naturally… hearing it live was cool but that’s the thing about hearing unreleased music. You never really know the intent of the artist until the record finally comes out, and as far as the final product goes I’m happy.
