Panda Bear: live @ Governors Island

Panda Bear recently announced a handful of U.S. live dates, including a show at the Beach @ Governors Island on September 11, with special guests Teengirl Fantasy and one of Noah’s favorite Portuguese bands, Gala Drop, plus a DJ set from Avey Tare. My brother and his buddy got tickets a few weeks back for this very show and I wanted to get some but I couldn’t because I’m currently unemployed. Panda Bear and Animal Collective have both changed my childhood for the better. Being at the young age of 16 I have always wanted to see concerts of bands that I truly admire. I actually traveled down to see MGMT this past week in Philly. But I really want to see my favorites; Girls, Washed Out, Monster Rally, YeaSayer, Cults, Tennis, B.I.G. KRIT, Big Boi, Animal Collective. But I have never really had the opportunity but getting these tickets would be incredible. Reading these comments that say “Hey, I’ll go, why not?” just makes doesn’t make sense to me because there are other people (me) that would clearly rather go.

I live in the South (Florida Panhandle); void of culture, oozing with prefabricated radio non-sense and brimming with delusions of idealistic grandeur still fresh from Reagan-aged politics.

I watch time after time great acts travel onwards as far south as Atlanta, only to make an abrupt westward or northbound jolt…

Please help me get to the city, I will spread word of my travels and enlighten the common folk (my people of the panhandle).

Besides, my G/f of four years just dumped me! 5 DAYS AFTER WE MOVED IN TOGETHER. Now I’m stuck alone– watching her bring dudes over that have more money than me and nice whips (I don’t even own a vehicle, I ride a bike)– while in my room J/O and crying (not always in that order), all to the delightful track samplings posted on GvsB! Streaming at snail-speed on my ’03 Desktop with windows 4.
