It’s been nearly a month since we first heard from secretive Grecian duo (?) Keep Shelly in Athens, and in the time since, their soothing, laid-back Balearic gold has become a staple for these steamy TX summer nights. The group sent over another just-finished hit in “a tear in my i,” a melancholic, slow motion disco-soul love song haunted by ghostly, fleeting pitch-shifted vocals and smooth ’80s sax. This one officially makes them 4-for-4:

keep shelly in athens :: a tear in my i
…and in case you missed these the first time around:
mp3:
keep shelly in athens :: cremona memories
keep shelly in athens :: fokionos negri street

this is so indeed perfect for steamy Texas summer nights. do they have any sort of release on the way, or do I just have to make my own EP out of this?
This is so lovely, heading to the States for a road trip in Sept – can’t wait!
Thanks for keeping is fresh, Chris.
it fresh (-gawdamit.)
@Bucky – Would definitely have to agree. A Texas summer night is the only aspect missing from the feel and emotion of “There’s a tear in i”.
Love the feel I get from the melodic sound to listen to this with a glass of wine, or perhaps a Vodka or Scotch on the rocks with the sax.
Great choice!
