Nice mix! Lovin’ that DJ Elmoe track!
great sleep over track
great mix..really
coming back strong or, what? :)
la pluie!
thanks for the new monthly mix.. i love to skate to these. also, the new website is a big improvement. you guys are awesome.
excellent, but for some reason I can’t download it. I remember downloading the june 2009 mix straight to itunes but this isnt working. Any suggestions would be great, either way awesome music.
thanks lee, appreciate it man.
jordan, you should be able to download like normal, just “right click/save as” on the file name
awesome as usual
what other song sampled the beginning of “a pluie de ciel”?
Wild Nothing’s “Chinatown”
Step 1: Get yo’ self to summertime
Step 2: Read you some GvB
Step 3: Steal what they like and put that shit on a CD
Step 4: Give it to some ladyzzz
Step 5: You are now chest deep in girls
it’s just too bad that (likely) requires leaving the comfort of my basement suite…
That’s Chantal Goya (From Godard’s “Masculine Femenine”)singing “la pluie du ciel”
thanks for this! i created a .cue file to go alongside this for easier track jumping, if anyone is interested, but you’ll most likely have to use a plugin with your media player (cueplayer for winamp will do the trick).
i’m interested… but ignorant. how does that work? i’d love to be able to jump through tracks/create my own playlists with these songs.
once you have the cueplayer plugin (if you use winamp), you open the .cue file like any normal audio file, and it splits up the one massive mp3 into different tracks in the playlist. the .cue file is really just a text file with indexes/times, artist, and track titles.
here’s the .cue file: http://www.mdn.fm/files/176675_pglb4/01-va-gorillavsbear_june_2010_mix.cue
again, the .cue file just acts as a table of contents; i don’t think it’ll allow you to export individual tracks. that’ll most likely require a decode to .wav, split each one up, and then encode back to mp3 if desired.
Thanks for the cue file, it works really well with the vlc player who can read pretty much anything :) !
I wonder where you guy get the pictures from…they are always really cool. Dope mix too.
Great great mix!!
Have you guys ever thought about offering these mixing with each track separate? Sometimes I want to hear certain tracks, and not others. No biggie though. Thanks!
Fair to say this is the poorest montly playlist since I have been a fan of gorilla vs bear. Keep Shelly in Athens are impressive but frankly, the new Washed Out does not meet his usual standards. It’s not bad but previous months have been unsurpassable. Sleep Over are interesting but there’s no “chinatown” magic in this. Try hard from tomorrow
Fantastic mix – best so far! IMO.
‘Marathon’ by Tennis – awesome sign-off.
take a walk to the store and get lost.
the bands are fairly new to me but i thought it was a good mix. That french intro is killer.
Hey great mix but is it only possible to download it as a stream on Mac?
Memory Tapes can do no wrong. Good work team, let’s hit the showers.
complete insanity, love you!
Another great mix!
Anyone got a link for the individual mp3 of the Sleep Over track? Really enjoying it.
awesome
is there a way to download the tracks into a playlist that has them separately tracked rather than all in one mp3?
Hey, could someone please split this one into multiple tracks and reupload? Thanks so much!
Great mix, thanks!
Tennis – Marathon
:-)
That’s the best Washed Out song yet. Love that sound.
