according to mutant sounds' vdoandsound (and he should know since he essentially is free dope and fucking in the streets) it would seem this will be tour only "in it's current form". the july 9th release date coincides with the echoplex show in LA.

Indie hipster news outlets PAY ATTENTION. Having lived in Dallas for the last 20 years I am aware of the cool shit that has come out of this hole over that time. BOY DID THEY MISS THE BOAT. The story here is not New Ariel Pink record or Jazz band changes sound. Lets talk about the term "CHILLWAVE". Most give the credit Ariel Pink the "Godfather" of chillwave" WOW, it seems that the only person that DID NOT MISS THE BOAT IS ARIEL PINK. Has anyone stopped and considered why Ariel is working so closely with VAS DEFERENS ORGANIZATION? I am very familiar with VDO'S music and if any one needs to get credit as the "GODFATHERS OF CHILLWAVE" IT IS CLEARLY VAS DEFERENS ORGANIZATION. Shit man, 1993! These guys were doing it when NO ONE WAS. Hauntology, PLEASE! Give me a fucking break. VDO Combines so many different kinds of rad/hip/weird/Avant Guard/electronic/Psyc/Prog music It makes my head swim. Go look at Mutant Sounds. Its a history of VDO INFLUENCES! VDO is the 800 pound Gorilla in the world, and the world is finally catching up. It took the master, Ariel Pink to recognize VDO First, and work with them to help him realize his vision. VDO would probably never own up to the title of "Godfather" of chillwave but come on people in the music news media get your Discogs correct. Do a little research and find out what Ariel already knows along with countless other people who pay attention. Right there in black and white for the world to see. I don’t know how many of you know about this (since it’s pretty under the radar) but the guys that Ariel Pink collaborated with in VDO on his Added Pizzazz and Shits and Giggles albums (and first song on Before Today) have started releasing amazing LP’s in 100 copy editions. I have doubts that their new one will still even be around since it’s been out for a week and they go fast, but if you’re really curious about why Ariel spent so much time working with these guys, these albums offer a lot of hints.
