Actually the Tartans were terrible. The spend way too long between songs changing instruments and talking to each other & don't have the charm or the charisma to pull it off. + they are a fugly bunch; fat/bald/short.

How shallow and mean you are, Louise. It says a lot that you judged their act without saying a word about their, um, music. …
Great photos David. Dum Dum Girls were everything I'd hoped they would be and so much more. A truly fantastic band. The Tartans were also a nice surprise. Pearl Harbor needs a drummer, some decent songs and someone who can actually sing.

that's an unnecessary exaggeration. pearl harbor needs a drummer but not desperately, and their songs are great! they have all the makings of an excellent band, and i think with a little time they'll be pretty damn fantastic.

Cool post. I don't know, though, I can see why they didn't cover Tartans. That band is not that good and as far as I know gvb has never mentioned a word about them.
Hey Terry, we are not an L.A. blog site, we're a music blog. And you are not our target audience. I'm curious as to what exactly is cliche about our site?

As a straight male who frequently mstrb8s, I'm glad there aren't any photos of the Tartans here; they were not that great, and let's be honest – they're not hot chicks. Usually I don't even listen to the "music" on this blog, I just like 2 look at pictures of "hotties"

Hey Scott.. is your target audience jaded, mid-thirties never-weres? There's a reason that Meeting Places has been a band since '01 and still couldn't headline a show if you booked it. It's not because you guys are so good. Less time twittering and blogging to an audience of none might be in order to rectify this situation.
Yowsa, if we're going by looks I'd say most bands worth a damn suck.
Between this and that LA Record review where the writer writes more about the Ramones than the show you'd think it's a crime to take 20 seconds to change instruments.
i will contribute a holler!
rad stuff, and even radder (a word?) snaps.
dani.
pearl harbor will blow(up) in '10 because they write good songs and are quite attractive actually…
No pictures of The Tartans? They played after Pearl Harbor and blew them away.
I was at the show, all three bands were great. Had never heard of Pearl Harbor before last night, and was quite impressed
Nice pics, but by omitting the Tartans (who were great), you do your readers a disservice.
