The 2009 Fun Fun Fun Fest and related festivities go down this weekend in downtown Austin‘s Waterloo Park. This year’s lineup is by far the young fest’s best yet: headliner-ish acts the Pharcyde, GZA, Danzig, Kid Sis, D.R.I., Destroyer, the Jesus Lizard, Of Montreal, and the Cool Kids are reason enough to attend, but here’s a sampling of other acts we’re psyched to see, in no particular order. An Austin band not mentioned but worth checking out on saturday (FFFFEST) is the Laughing. They have come a LONG way since their white tiger days. Worth seeing if you get there early enough. Their new record is awesome.
This lineup is great! However, I do not feel any of these bands will be considered the best rock bands of all time. Does anyone agree with me? also, two of my friends are going but my family is too poor for me to go.
my brother is in jail on a murder charge but he is mentally ill and was attacked. we got kicked out of our house because of this. my mom sister and i have been living together in our new place but my sisters moving out so me and my mom have to move out to some new place because we cant afford this place. im trying to start school and my car just went to shit and we're moving like a hour away from everything.

i lost my job, house, and this is the reason i can't attend. plz pick me!! went last year and it was amazing. i regularly follow your blog and just attended the Mellisa Nadler concert at the Modern in Fort Worth so therefore i spent what little remaining money i had on independent music and a sponsored event hosted by you. i love your concerts. have been to all your showcases at SXSW. please pick me! it would mean tons and it would restore my faith that just some jack-ass wins who could give a shit and doesn't know who the Jesus Lizard is.
