More woozy, lo-fi bedroom dance pop from Columbia, South Carolina, courtesy of Ernest Greene, aka Washed Out. Bask in the warm, inviting glow of (possibly borrowed) nostalgia cast by the excellent “Feel it All Around,” which somehow manages to feel both distant and fully engaging, and look for a tape from Washed Out soon on Mirror Universe:

washed out :: feel it all around

Don't you mean ride the wavves?

shit is hella good
t-minus ____ until Pitchfork pawns this latest discovery off as their own.
love it right up there with neon indian and all these other American bros doing it and doing it well.
Other good Columbia bands. We're a well-kept secret.

Ernesto threw the real sick house parties too: http://raunchynoise.blogspot.com/2008/10/thee-crucials-rob-throb-house-par-tay.html
Too bad I understand he's splitsville from ol' Cola-town…
Columbia blowin up like wet dog food!
Washed Out is the next Neon Indian.
that washed out is the best thing.
How does every band always jump on the same trend?

washed out is it
fuck me. this is incredible
Those bands which are recommended here in the comments are all shit.
Washed out sounds great.
The Big Pink is ok.
Up on pitchfork already, but it's another free mP3 so I'm not complaining.
http://pitchfork.com/forkcast/13148-youll-see-it/
not surprised at all that pitchfork ripped off another GVB find for the billionth time.
Not to be a jerk, but I'm sure little known bands like Washed Out are probably pretty happy that Pitchfork (and now Stereogum) are "ripping off" a GVB find, which is in turn "ripping off" a No Pain In Pop find. That's how things go — big blog writer reads smaller blog, which gets stuff from smaller blog. A lot of people are going to hear these songs as a result, which is good, because they certainly deserve to be heard.

Also, I totally agree that the bands recommended in these comments are pretty subpar — or at least it's pretty dim to think people that are into music like Washed Out or Toro Y Moi, etc. etc. would be into a band like "New York Disco Villains." Of course people want to take the opportunity to self-promote. Bummer.
no, you're right jheri, not to mention that Ernest (Washed Out) emailing me the track directly unsolicited hardly constitutes a "find." more like a gift, really.
True dat.
@jheri curl: seriously, those self-promoters are pathetic. as if anyone who likes these sweet WASHED OUT jams would EVER consider listening to magic treesuns, or reasons, or whatever it's called.
This is so relaxing.
Great find.
It's not something that's being exploited my radio either, which means I wont get sick of it.
=]
love this
I really enjoyed this track, however when I posted on them over on EMJ people seemed to dislike them…. meh
