Captured Tracks has been on a bit of tear this year. In addition to a handful of solid 7"s (the Mayfair Set, Brilliant Colors, Woods, etc.), Mr. Blank Dogs' label has released two of my favorite 12" EPs of '09 so far: Dum Dum Girls' Yours Alone and now, Wooden Glove, the debut 4-song EP from Toronto's the Bitters (the cover art rules too, by the way). I declared my love for Ben Cook (of Fucked Up) and Aerin Fogel's new project -- specifically the great song "Warrior" -- a couple months back, and I'm pleased to say that Wooden Glove is more of the same raucous, kind of dirty and always insanely catchy "cave pop." Here's another jam from the EP's a-side:
