I’ve already mentioned how much I love Woods‘ latest Captured Tracks 7″ — the b-side in particular — and the band’s stellar new full-length, Songs of Shame, is more of the same simple, breezy, and consistently awesome lo-fi pop (the label calls it road worn/windblown “skeletal psychedelia”). Highlights include the group’s killer Graham Nash cover, and the fuzzy, pensively sad backwoods psych-folk ballad “Rain On“:

i first heard of ‘At Rear House’ from Chris, years ago. and the new Woods is badass.
