Our friends at Beggars recently sent over some extremely promising new demos from four 19-year-olds from South London called The xx. The group recently signed to Beggars imprint Young Turks, and these wistful slow-jams are basically the exact opposite of all the noisy lo-fi stuff I’ve been posting lately. The Womack & Womack cover is especially recommended:

i think the song VCR by the xx is amazing… it has been one of my favorites for a long time. i still don’t know how i feel about the band’s other work though… something about that song just works for me.
