I was going to attempt to articulate just how conceptually brilliant Wale’s new Seinfeld-sampling Mixtape About Nothing is, but my friend Weiss pretty much nails it here. I’m still undecided how I feel about Wale as an MC — although I’m warming up a little more with each listen, and I’m always feeling his sports metaphors — but you can’t really deny the fact that he realizes the full potential of the medium with this mixtape. Anyway before you go read Weiss’ thing, grab the mixtape’s opening track: the one where Wale does his best “What’s the deal with…” Seinfeld observational humor impression, over the Seinfeld theme song:

Our Austin homies Transmission Entertainment have launched their shiny new website here. This site is a must if you’re in Austin, as they’ll have updates on the haps at the Mohawk, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and more. I’ll occasionally be contributing a feature, which they’ve titled “the gorilla of the month club.”
