Okay this is a stretch, but here’s this week’s Panda Bear update:
Check out this short “film,” unearthed from back when Noah Lennox (aka Panda Bear) was “loosely attending a mildly prestigious university” in the nascent days of Animal Collective. Written by Austin’s Black Nasty (who also makes a cameo appearance) and starring Panda Bear, as “Bobby,” a high school student who chooses a painfully obvious (and maybe NSFW, depending on where you W) antidote to combat his unpopularity. I’ve watched this about three five times, and I’ve decided it’s totally worth watching, if only to see Panda Bear dance to AMG’s “Bitch Betta Have My Money.” So, yeah…enjoy?

That was a wonderful movie. For whatever reason, finding student films in the same realm as this one is a lot more difficult today than it was before. There is something about how much everyone needs to contribute in order to make a 16 mm film that made the final products so much better.
