I had a lengthy discussion with a Rock Insider yesterday who told me that The Little Ones were here newest obsession. She has pointed me in the direction of some good bands from LA in the past, so I decided to check them out. Of course, always being one step ahead of me, Matt posted on them today as well, and Yeti, Rachael, Janet, and Coolfer are also fans.
At any rate, I’m glad I found them, because I’ve been looking for something like this to tide me over until I get the new album from The Shins…even their EP cover art is Chutes Too Narrow-esque. This track, upon a few listens, reminds me quite a bit of The Spinto Band‘s “Oh Mandy“, one of the catchiest songs of ’05:

the spinto band is FAB-U-LOUS. I cannot get enough of their song “crack the whip” – it’s got it all, the harmonies, the beat, just perfect. thanks for this track.
that’s pretty good stuff. not really all that shins-like, considering they totally nicked the cover art. the guitar parts sort of sound like the strokes on sedatives. or maybe not. i’m no good at this game.

I likey. Really, anything with “hey!”s and “yeah yeah yeah yeah yeahs” and handclaps will get me everytime. Perfect for my fifteen second attention span!

i dig ‘em too (and have written about them a few times) the cover art was done by the same guy that did the shins. the guitar in “cha cha cha” sounds quite a bit like the fruit bats’ “the wind that blew my heart away.”
Jesse LeDoux, the creator of the album art for the Shins’ Chutes Too Narrow, is indeed the artist responsible for the Little Ones album art.
